Al-Musnad explains... Why are there differences in the time of the appearance of the star Suhail?
Arab Weather - Dr. Abdullah Al-Misnad, former professor of climate at Qassim University and vice president of the Saudi Weather and Climate Society, explained that the star or constellation Suhail appears for the first time coinciding with the rise of the "Al-Taraf" or "Al-Tarfa" mansion in the Leo constellation, on August 24, according to the middle latitudes of the Kingdom.

Difference in the dates of the appearance of the star Suhail
Dr. Al-Musnad added that some astronomical calculations indicate that the star Suhail appears approximately seven days before this date, and this difference is due to astronomical factors that depend on the ability to see the star when it appears above the horizon at dawn. This difference is considered normal and does not affect the accuracy of the calculations.

The effect of geographical location on the appearance of the star Suhail
Dr. Al-Musnad pointed out that the geographical location plays a role in determining the date of the appearance of the Suhail star; the further south we go, the earlier it appears. For example, the star appears early in Yemen on July 25, in Jazan on August 7, while it appears in central Saudi Arabia on August 24, and in the far north of the Kingdom on September 8.

Linking climate phenomena to the appearance of the star Suhail
Dr. Al-Masnad concluded his speech by saying that the appearance of the star Suhail does not necessarily mean that the atmospheric and climatic characteristics associated with this star are repeated on all these dates; rather, they only coincide with its appearance in the locations where astronomical calculations are made, such as the middle latitudes of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia surrounding the Tropic of Cancer.
