Morocco records the first case of monkeypox
Weather of Arabia - The Ministry of Health and Social Protection in Morocco announced today, Thursday, the registration of the first confirmed case of monkeypox.
The ministry stated that the registered case of a traveler coming from a European country, and was monitored within the framework of the protocol established in the Kingdom since the announcement of the global health alert regarding the spread of monkeypox.
Morocco had strengthened health control measures at its various border points, whether land, sea or air, after its northern neighbor, Spain, and other European countries recorded confirmed cases of monkeypox.
The health authorities in the Kingdom, through the National Center for Health Emergency Operations at the Ministry of Health, are monitoring the global epidemiological situation of the monkeypox virus and all recommendations issued by the World Health Organization, to prevent the spread of the viral disease within the Kingdom.
The Moroccan Ministry of Health had issued a guide to raise awareness of this disease before entering the Kingdom, and called for the necessity of reporting any suspected or potential case immediately to the health authorities in order to present it for medical diagnosis.
