`Hackers` cause chaos and traffic jams in the streets of Moscow.. How is that?

The reason for the attack

Yandex Taxi, Russia's largest car transport service, confirmed that it was the target of a cyberattack.

The company confirmed that on Thursday morning, the capital's "Yandex" taxi drivers received dozens of fake orders, which all led them to the same location. This led to the collapse of the taxi service and the creation of a massive traffic jam in Moscow.

A Yandex spokesperson told Forbes that the company has worked to improve its algorithms to prevent such attacks and similar incidents in the future, and the company also said it will soon pay out compensation for drivers who are stuck in traffic for at least 40 minutes. However, according to Forbes, the traffic jam lasted for more than two hours

Anonymous (a group of electronic hacking activists) claimed responsibility for the attack, according to Twitter.

This cyberattack came as Russian forces continued their invasion of Ukraine. In addition to fighting on the ground, each side was engaged in cyberwarfare, and this was not the first time that Russian services had been disrupted by cyberattacks.

In March, several Russian TV channels were hacked and their programs replaced with coverage of the war in Ukraine by independent broadcasters. And in June, a major Russian radio station was hacked and began broadcasting Ukrainian anthems and anti-war songs.
