Japan cancels flights, land travel ahead of Typhoon Ampil
Arab Weather - Japan has cancelled hundreds of flights and trains across the country as Typhoon Ampil approaches the archipelago. Typhoon Ampil is expected to hit the Tokyo area a few days after Tropical Storm Maria, which brought record rains late Thursday before sweeping the Pacific coast on Friday and Saturday.
Cyclone Ampil comes after Tropical Storm Maria at a time when Japan is experiencing a major holiday that extends for several days, during which millions of Japanese people take advantage of visiting their hometowns.
The Meteorological Agency warned residents of eastern regions of the possibility of violent storms, river floods, and landslides.
