An eruption of a volcano in Indonesia spews ash up to 2 km
ArabiaWeather.com - Nasser Haddad - The explosion of the "Gamalama" volcano in Indonesia caused ash to reach a height of 2 kilometers into the sky, which caused the closure of an airport near the area and warned specialists of the danger of ash to air traffic.
Nine injuries were recorded during the process of evacuating the area from the population due to the explosion, while there are still people missing.
Ternate Island is located in eastern Indonesia and contains several active volcanoes
Volcanic ash continued to accumulate on the island of Ternate, which raised serious concerns about the danger of lava, especially in riverbeds, reaching residential communities, according to a report from the National Disaster Management Agency in North Maluku.
This volcanic activity was accompanied by 67 earthquakes during the last 30 days, ranging in intensity from 4 to 6.8 on the Richter scale.
