ولازال الكثير من عُشاق العواصف والعاصير يستمرون بمطارتها حتى اليوم، ومن بينهم "مايك هولينجشيد" الأمريكي البالغ من العمر 37 عاما الذي آثر أن يترك عمله في مصنع الذرة ليتفرغ للعمل بهوايته الخاصة المتمثلة برصد الأعاصير ومطاردتها.
"مايك هولينجشيد" بدأ العمل بشكلٍ فعلي كمُطاردٍ للعواصف في العام 1999م والذي يقول أنه أدمن على مُطارة الأعاصير لدرجة أنه قام بنقل منزله إلى منطقة "زقاق التورنادو" المعرفة بكثرة أعاصيرها والمتواجدة في الولايات المُتحدة الأمريكية.
