موقع ArabiaWeather.com  - عمر الدجاني- تُعتبر ظاهرة تشكُل السحب الصدرية او الماماتوس ، أحد أغرب الظواهر التي تتشكل في الغيوم.

 

و هي عبارة عن مجموعة من الغيوم  المتجمعة على شكل تجعدات  يمتد طولها في بعض الأحيان لمئات الكيلومترات، و يبلغ طول كل تجعُد منها مئات الامتار.

 

ظُهورها في السماء بشكل متواصل و على امتداد افقي كبير يُعتبر نذيراً لهبوب عاصفة قوية ، و لكنها في بعض الاحيان تضمحل بسرعة و تختفي كأنها لم تكُن.

 

لا تمكث سحب الماماتوس في السماء لأكثر من عشر دقائق، و هي تختلف في شفافيتها و شكلها فقد تكون مكونة من عدد كبير من الاكياس المتشابهة أو غير المتشابهة في الحجم و تتكون في معظم الاحيان من ماء و ثلج.
