In pictures, this is the most booked hotel room in Britain
ArabiaWeather - Tourists wishing to stay in the Clifftop Tower will have to wait a long time, as it is booked until July 2019.
Dorset's impressive Clavell Tower overlooking Cambridge Bay has inspired literary greats including Thomas Hardy and Bud James.
The tower, which was built in 1830, has been preserved and has been open to the public as a residence since August 2008. Since then, the tower has proven very popular, with bookings throughout the months of the year.
And the charitable foundation spent 900,000 pounds sterling to dismantle the tower and rebuild its rooms after they were eroded, and all 16,272 stones were carefully photographed and numbered in order to facilitate their return to their places.
Clavell Tower, on the Sudmore Estate, was built by John Richards Clavell as an observatory, and after his death in 1833 the ownership of the tower passed to his niece, hence it became a destination for family outings.
From the 1880s until 1914, the tower served as an observation post for the Coast Guard, but it was left empty and increasingly deserted.
The converted tower now offers accommodation for two with bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, and lounge over four floors. The bedroom, located on the third floor, comes with a balcony, and a seating area on the top floor offers a wonderful view of the sea.
Clavell Tower can be booked for a three-night weekend, rates start at $633, and next reservations from July to December 2019 will be available in early spring this year.
