Video | A camera captures amazing real scenes from inside a powerful hurricane.. See what it looks like
Weather of Arabia - These are amazing footage published by the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), as it gave the opportunity to take a comprehensive look from inside a strong hurricane, through a video filmed inside Hurricane "Sam", by an unmanned vehicle that was resisting winds at a speed of 193 km / An hour, and waves with a height of 15 meters.
The footage was captured by an unmanned vehicle known as the Saildrone Explorer SD 1045, which comes equipped with a special "hurricane wing", enabling it to record in the most stormy conditions, as the Saildrone heads where no research vessel has ever ventured. It sails right into the eye of a hurricane and is capable of operating in the most extreme weather conditions on Earth.
And that footage was on September 30, 2021 of Hurricane "Sam", which was the longest and most intense of the 2021 hurricane season in the Atlantic Ocean, although fortunately it avoided hitting Al-Yayasa, and its classification was downgraded to a category two storm.
The Saildrone Explorer SD 1045 is engaged in a real-time data collection mission, which can then be used to improve hurricane forecast models, and is equipped with meteorological and oceanographic sensors to collect data, as well as microphones and cameras. Powered by sunlight and wind, AI uses machine learning to analyze different data as it arrives.
The vehicle is operated by a human pilot via a satellite link and can stay and operate for more than a year at sea. There are currently a number of such independent organs in the Atlantic Ocean.
In the future, this same technology could be used to track the progress of hurricanes as they develop, and ultimately to save lives by providing advance warning of what storm systems might do next.
