In the details, a Tunisian farmer in the state of Monastir discovered a natural gas well when he was digging a well for groundwater, but he was shocked when flaming water suddenly flowed out with great force.

Commenting on this matter, Habib Troudi, a geologist and expert at the Tunisian Petroleum Activities Corporation, explained in a statement to Mosaic that the presence of gas in the Sahel region - Sousse and Monastir regions, is not surprising.

He revealed that the well was dug at a depth of approximately 100 meters, in the Bou Othman area in the wilaya of Monastir, and there is a limestone and debris reservoir located in the depths of the well, which enabled the flow of water and gas in this way, according to his assertion.

Investigations are underway to clarify what happened

It should be noted that many Tunisian news websites have talked about the lack of clarity about what happened until the moment, indicating that investigations are still underway to reveal the validity of what is going on, knowing that Al-Falah was digging for groundwater illegally and without obtaining a license from the concerned authorities. Therefore, he is currently under arrest.
