The park was built on the land of the famous "Peace Farm", which contained a residential palace, a number of service buildings, and a mosque that is now more than seventy years old. This farm was famous for the quality of its palm trees.

The environments that the visitor can see in Salam Park vary, including the farm that is located in the northern part of the park and contains the remaining palm trees of the old farm and the palm trees that were later planted, and their number reaches a thousand palm trees.

It also contains the lake, which has an area of (34) thousand square meters, and has been excavated at different depths, so that the highest point does not exceed five meters. The lake accommodates about (140) thousand cubic meters of water. Within the lake, which is one of the most prominent features of the park, there are water fountains of various shapes that are lit at night, and pumps that generate permanent water currents, in addition to planting plants that limit the spread of algae.

The lake is divided into two areas, the first: it provides the opportunity to ride boats for park goers, and the other represents a beautiful natural scene that attracts local and migratory birds. There is also a circular pedestrian path ten meters wide and one kilometer long that surrounds the lake and passes through most parts of the park.

The park also includes hills located in the middle and consists of extended green areas, in addition to the natural environment that is located in the southeastern part of the park, which is designated to provide a natural environment for selected types of animals and birds that live in the region.
