An additional 223 buses have been allocated to serve passengers in many districts of Riyadh, and 500 new stations and stopping points have been established. This brings the total number of routes to 24, served by 560 buses, covering more than 1,100 stations and stopping points, and extending over a distance of 1,120 km out of a total network of 1,900 km. It is intended that the Riyadh bus network will be fully operational by the end of this year.

The authority clarified that the launch of the second phase comes after the launch of the first phase last Shaaban, within the framework of the King Abdulaziz Project for Public Transport in Riyadh. The project aims to develop public transportation in the city and achieve significant improvements in the public transportation sector. The authority indicated that the first phase witnessed the operation of more than 180,000 flights, and more than two million passengers were transported.
