Weather of Arabia - The Director of Civil Protection in the Algerian state of Bejaia stated that a fire had broken out in a forest in the Ish El-Baz region in the state, and evacuations of populated areas were carried out as a precaution to avoid any risks. Mobile fire engines were also sent from the province of Bejaia, in addition to support from the provinces of Bouira, Setif and Bordj Bou Arreridj.
Algerian media reported that a massive fire had occurred in the Saket forest areas in the municipality of Bejaia, where the area of the fire spread and headed towards the inhabited areas of Ish El-Baz and Boulimat, up to the borders of the municipality of Toja.
Suppression operations are continuing in the Mahoui area in the municipality of Tichy and Ish El Baz in the municipality of Bejaia. It was also noted that civil protection services are cooperating with the Algerian National Army to confront any risks resulting from this fire.
