Camel breeding and care is a new specialty entering Saudi universities
Arab Weather - Sheikh Fahd bin Falah bin Hathleen, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Camel Club in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, confirmed the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Camel Club and King Khalid University in Abha on Monday, aiming to launch a "Diploma in Camel Breeding and Care."
Bin Hathleen pointed out that this agreement represents a new era for camel lovers, especially since it coincides with the Year of the Camel 2024. He explained that the “Diploma in Camel Breeding and Care” is one of the pioneering national projects, as it seeks to provide scientific, professional, and cultural preparation related to camels, in addition to creating multiple job opportunities for those interested in this field. The diploma will also contribute to spreading camel culture in an organized manner.
Bin Hathleen added: “This initiative represents a pioneering scientific step, and is the first scientific degree related to camels in the world. We hope that other scientific degrees will follow, thanks to the support this sector receives from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince - may God protect them.”
Camel Breeding and Care Diploma Duration
It is worth noting that the duration of the "Camel Breeding and Care" diploma will be two academic years, including three academic semesters and a semester for field training. The diploma covers four main tracks: veterinary medical, economic, cultural historical, and legal organizational.
