Arab Weather - Meteorologists at the Arab Weather Regional Center reported that the latest computer data indicates the infiltration of Siberian winds of very cold origin towards eastern Europe, specifically to Turkey and the surrounding areas, causing a significant drop in temperatures with heavy rains on the coasts and heavy snowfall on the high mountain heights, especially the Trabzon Heights on Monday, which extends to northern Iraq, while stable weather prevails in the rest of the countries of the Eastern Mediterranean.

Temperatures drop to around 12 degrees below zero in Türkiye, with very cold weather

The infiltration of very cold winds is expected to result in a sharp drop in temperatures in Turkey, as temperatures are expected to drop below zero at night in large areas (while reaching only minus 1 in Ankara), and temperatures in the northeastern highlands will range between -8 and -12 degrees Celsius below zero, which are very low and considered to be very cold.

Heavy snowfall and accumulation in large thicknesses on the northern mountainous heights

Heavy snowfall is falling in Turkey, especially in the highlands of Trabzon and Rize. It is expected that snow will accumulate in large quantities ranging from 20 to 70 cm, and the density of snow will increase with the increase in altitude above sea level, God willing, which will hinder daily life and lead to the formation of frost and difficulty of movement due to the accumulation of snow and ice.
