Charles becomes king of the United Kingdom after the death of Queen Elizabeth II at the age of 96

Weather of Arabia - Queen Elizabeth II died, after the longest reign of Britain over seven decades, and Buckingham Palace announced today, Thursday (September 8), her death at the age of 96 years (1926 - 2022).

The Queen died at Balmoral Castle in Scotland after doctors said today they were concerned about her health.

Charles is now King of the United Kingdom

Charles immediately became king after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

As heir since the age of three, he was the longest-reigning heir to the throne in British history.

When he becomes king, Charles has the option to take whatever name he chooses to rule him as king. For example, King George VI's real name was Albert, and two previous monarchs have been named Charles.

Charles had already taken over some of the Queen's engagements this year after her health deteriorated and she had to cancel some of her commitments, including the state's opening of Parliament.
