A safety app that sends 3 thousand alerts to users who have been in contact with an emerging coronavirus
Arab Weather - The number of alerts sent through the "security" application has reached about 3 thousand alerts to users who have been in contact with people infected with the emerging corona virus, since its launch on May 20, until today.
Engineer Bashir Al-Salayta added. One of the founders of the "Aman" application, he said that during the past seven days , when local infections increased, the application sent alerts to 450 users.
He stated that no party knows the information of the person to whom the alert was sent, adding that this makes it imperative for those who receive the alert to initiate and conduct an automatic examination of the emerging corona virus.
What does it mean to receive an alert from a security app?
Al-Salayta indicated that the alert means that you were in contact with or close to a person infected with the virus, but it does not mean that you are infected with the virus, but rather an indication of the possibility of exposure to the virus as a result of your presence in the same place and time with a person who was diagnosed with the virus within 14 days, and you entered his data on Aman application system.
He pointed out that if the application did not give you a warning, this also does not mean that you did not have contact with infected people. Because it is possible that the victim is not using the application.
The application also helps to save the geographical areas that the infected person went to without the need to remember them personally; This helps the work of the epidemiological investigation teams, especially with the rapid increase in the number of cases.
Al-Salayta pointed out that to benefit from the application, it is necessary to download it, and to activate the geolocation feature so that notifications reach the beneficiary in the event that an infected person comes into contact in a place, indicating that the application's work is not instantaneous, and depends on the data that is entered on the application system after diagnosing the infection.
The importance of implementing safety
Al-Salaytah explained that the application is an aid to alert those in contact with the possibility of exposure to infection, indicating that there may be infected persons, but the application is not installed on their cellular devices, and then there is no notice of contact with this person, and thus the necessity to adhere to wearing masks, gloves, physical distancing, and frequent hand washing.
Al-Salayta wished to download the application more, indicating that it was accomplished by the "Jordanian technologists community to confront Covid-19", a group of young men and women from inside and outside Jordan who volunteered to develop the application in the service of the country and society, where about 55 volunteers work on the application within work tracks related to developing and programming the application Technical support, information and communication, research and development, and quality assurance.
On May 20, 2020, the Ministry of Health launched the "Aman" application as a voluntary, civil initiative with the aim of protecting people and society through alerts that reveal possible exposure to the emerging corona virus. This will stop the chain of infections faster.
