Learn about the health conditions for Hajj for the year 2024/1445

Weather of Arabia - The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah revealed last Sunday the requirements and recommendations that were adopted for the Hajj season of 1445 AH , which include immunizing pilgrims against a number of diseases, in addition to directives to countries regarding the health status of guests coming to the Kingdom.

Pilgrims inside Saudi Arabia

The Ministry explained in a statement today that the necessary immunizations for pilgrims inside the Kingdom this year, which require documentation in the “My Health” application, include:

• One dose of Covid-19 vaccine.
• One dose of influenza vaccine must have been given within 2024.
• One dose of meningitis vaccine , which must have been given within the past five years.

Pilgrims outside Saudi Arabia

For pilgrims coming from outside the Kingdom, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has confirmed the following requirements:

• The pilgrim must have received the Neisseria meningitis vaccine , and at least 10 days and no more than 5 years must have passed since he received the vaccine. The health authority in their country must ensure that they receive the vaccine in a timely manner, and document the name of the vaccine and the date it was received in Vaccination certificate.
• Pilgrims also require at least one dose of bivalent oral polio vaccine or inactivated polio vaccine.

Diseases that interfere with physical ability

Regarding diseases that interfere with physical ability, the Saudi Ministry of Health has advised the countries from which pilgrims come to ensure that they are free of these diseases, which may hinder them from performing rituals, such as:

• Advanced renal failure.
• Advanced heart failure.
• Chronic lung diseases.
• Advanced liver cirrhosis.
• Severe neurological diseases.
• Aging accompanied by dementia.

Saudi Health stressed the importance of pilgrims suffering from chronic diseases carrying with them the necessary medications and health status checks, in addition to immunization against the targeted diseases.
