Arab Weather - Sinan Khalaf - The weather forecast staff in Arab weather warned of the exposure of the southwestern highlands of the Kingdom, specifically the heights of Jazan and the surrounding areas to a wave of very heavy thunderstorms during this weekend and early next week, with a high probability of the formation of torrential torrents in some Regions.

On Friday and Saturday, large amounts of tropical moisture are expected to flow from the Arabian Sea towards the heights of Jazan, causing strong weather disturbances, and very heavy thunderstorms in large quantities are expected to cover most parts of Jazan , especially the southern highlands bordering Yemen such as Faifa and Al-Ardah. And Al-Da’ir, Bani Malik, Damad, and possibly Abu Al-Arish, amid serious warnings that some of these areas may be exposed to torrential torrents due to the expected heavy rainfall.

In view of the large thermal differences expected this afternoon and evening, between the surface of the earth and the colder air above, it is expected that thunder clouds will be dense and strong thunderstorms sometimes blow, and in such circumstances, convective currents activate and intensify within thunder clouds, which means high chances of papyrus falling. It is not excluded that it is dense and leads to accumulations, especially on the mountains.

The latest forecasts also indicate the continuation of the flow of tropical moisture towards the region during the next two weeks, which means a continuation of the rainy situation and its renewal in the region on a daily basis, continuing beyond the blessed Eid al-Adha, and the Arab Weather will issue the necessary updates and reports according to the latest developments.

The forecast staff warns during the expected rainy state of:

• Danger of severe thunderstorms and lightning
• The danger of flash floods in low-lying areas and mountain slopes
• Intensity of downward winds associated with thunderstorms
• The intensity of hail showers, which may be accumulating at times
