Warning of dense fog in the late night hours and Sunday morning in large areas of the Kingdom
Arab Weather - The latest outputs of the numerical weather models processed by the Arab Weather Center indicate expectations of fog formation during the late night hours of Saturday/Sunday night in large areas of the Kingdom, especially the eastern plains and the Badia, and until the late morning hours of Sunday.
Fog and dense fog are forming, and horizontal visibility drops to less than 500 meters.
Starting tonight, Saturday/Sunday night, temperatures will drop and very cold weather will prevail in all areas, with the chance of some random showers of rain remaining. Gradually, as time passes at night, the chances of precipitation will decrease, and frost is likely to form in parts of the desert, the eastern plains, and the peaks of the southern highlands during the dawn and early morning hours.
There is a significant increase in surface humidity levels, which creates a chance for fog to form in several areas of the eastern plains and the Badia, including Zizia and the Queen Alia International Airport area. It is not unlikely that the fog will be very dense, causing horizontal visibility to drop to less than 500 meters, especially in the early morning, and includes parts of the desert road leading from the capital, Amman, to the south of the Kingdom, and sometimes reaches inside some cities.
Fog begins to clear during the late morning hours as the weather remains cool.
On Sunday morning, the weather will be cold and foggy in several areas of the Kingdom, especially the eastern plains and the Badia. The fog will gradually disappear over time, i.e. during the late morning hours, but temperatures tend to rise slightly for the rest of the day to be about two degrees Celsius higher than their average for this time of year. The weather will be relatively cold in general, with a high of about 13 degrees Celsius in the capital, Amman, while the weather will be pleasant in low-lying areas such as the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, with scattered clouds and light, variable winds.
And God knows best.
