Directions to declare a state of emergency to protect Ajloun forests
ArabiaWeather.com- The Governor of Ajloun Abdullah Al Khattab revealed the implementation of a wide security campaign against the gangs and mafias that attack the forests in the governorate, which is currently witnessing an unjustified attack by these gangs to destroy the national wealth, stressing that no one is above the law regarding this issue. Declaring a state of emergency to protect the forests in the province, in coordination between the various agencies.
During a meeting in the presence of Representative Kholoud Al-Khatahtbeh and the directors of the Royal Department for Environment Protection, Forestry, Agriculture, Civil Defense and the Police, the governor criticized the poor coordination between these departments concerned with preserving forests and the failure to take deterrent measures against citizens who violate this wealth, calling for the development of practical mechanisms in order to confront the campaign of attacks. On the forests in the province exclusively, and there will be no complacency with any negligent party.
MP Al-Khatahtbeh stressed that what forests are exposed to is unfortunate, and appropriate solutions must be put in place to raise awareness of the importance of this wealth, pointing to the need to hold a training course for pilgrims and give them incentives and punish the negligent ones, in addition to strengthening the monitoring and follow-up mechanism and providing the necessary mechanisms.
The Director of the Royal Department for Environmental Protection, Colonel Hamzah Al-Qiyam, indicated that monitoring forest wealth is one of the tasks of the various agencies, pointing to the need to establish coordination, monitoring and joint patrols with agriculture and the security services, not to use pruning permits more than once, and the need to license motors and chainsaws to be under control, pointing out that it will be done Increasing the staff of the environmental department in the governorate.
And the director of forestry, Eng. Eid Al-Zoubi, stated that the ministry submitted a request to the prime minister to appoint 10 pontoons and 40 protection workers, and to enhance the cultivation of Ajloun with mechanisms such as firefighters, water tanks, and supplies to protect and monitor forest wealth.
The attendees agreed to establish and specify several patrols to monitor the forests around the clock, conduct transfers between the rafts, bring the names of the assailants on the forests from among the priority holders, and increase the staff of Ajloun agriculture and its machinery (Ajloun News Agency).
