موقع ArabiaWeather.com – تعرّضت مُدن الساحل الشرقي لتونس قبل عدة أيام إلى موجة من الأمواج الشديدة التي تسبب في تدمير سواحل و كورنيش مُدن نابل و خليج الحمّامات بشكل كبير.
و يرى قسم التنبؤات الجوية في مركز ArabiaWeather الاقليمي للأرصاد الرياح التي هبّت على سواحل شرق تونس ليلة الثلاثاء 5-3-2013 كفيلة بإحداث مثل هذه الامواج و هذا الضرر، حيثُ كانت سُرعة هبات الرياح تتجاوز الـ100 كم بالساعة مع ساعات الليل، رغم ورود عدد من مقاطع الفيديو التي توضح أن الامواج كانت تضرب الساحل صباح الاربعاء دون وجود علامات اضطراب جوي.
و تُظهر خرائط النشاط الزلزالي في المنطقة غياب الزلازل الكبيرة عن المنطقة ، حيثُ أن أقوى زلزال بالمنطقة المُحيطة كان هزة خفيفة بقوة 3.7 على مقياس ريختر في جزئرة صقلية الايطالية، حيثُ أن مثل هذه الهزة غير قادرة على إحداث أمواج مد بحري هادمة للشواطئ.
