Weather of Arabia - Displaced families in Deir al-Balah, south of the Gaza Strip, are struggling to keep water and mud away from their temporary tents after heavy rains fell yesterday, Tuesday, as CNN monitored in a video clip from a camp for the displaced, children moving in the mud and deep puddles, which were created by Heavy rain, and one of the women can be seen trying to get water out of her tent, as at least nine children, including an infant, are searching for shelter. The woman said:
“Look at our children and how the water got in! Look at the water outside! That's enough for us!”
Yesterday, Tuesday, heavy rains caused flash floods in the camp, submerging sleeping areas and leaving families searching for shelter, while some children were seen playing in the water and splashing around the puddles inside their temporary homes. “We are nine people living in this tent and our tent is flooded with water, and my brothers are cold, and we do not know what to do. We want to return to our homes and not drown.”
According to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), it is estimated that approximately 1.9 million people in Gaza, or approximately 85% of the besieged enclave's population, have become internally displaced, some of whom have been displaced multiple times.
