Umrah rule .. and how to perform the rituals of Umrah
The ritual of the Arabs - Umrah is obligatory for every obligated person who is able to do so. According to the correct view of the two scholars, Umrah is obligatory for the male and female obligated persons if they are able to do so, such as Hajj. For his saying, peace be upon him, in the hadith of Omar when he asked him about Islam, he said: “To testify that there is no god but God and that Muhammad is the Messenger of God, and to establish prayer and pay zakat, and fast Ramadan, and perform Hajj and Umrah.” Al-Daaraqutni and Ibn Khuzaymah included it with a true chain of narrators, and he said to Aisha, may God be pleased with her: “On Women are a jihad in which there is no fighting: Hajj and Umrah.
Umrah rituals include 4 main steps:
- Ihram
- circumambulation
- Pursuit
- Shaving or dereliction of ihram
Umrah rituals details:
- Ihram
The first and most important stage to actually enter the performance of the rituals, and in order for the individual to be deprived for Umrah, he washes and perfumes, then puts on the Ihram clothes, which is a white loincloth and robe, and the right shoulder does not appear except in the circumambulation of arrival only, while the woman wears whatever clothes she wants without any adornment, Then he prays two rak'ahs, and intends to enter ihram for the Umrah.
Then he says, "At your service, O God, at your service, at your service, there is no partner for you, for you, for you, praise and blessing are for you and the kingdom, you have no partner," and the man raises his picture with that, while the woman says it as much as he hears from her side only, then they multiply the talbiyah, and the dhikr.
- circumambulation
When the pilgrim reaches Makkah, he enters the Sacred Mosque with his right foot, and starts 7 rounds of circumambulation around the honorable Kaaba, starting from the Black Stone, saying “In the Name of God, and God is Greatest” and every time he passes by him in each round, he ends with him, and receives the stone with his right hand and kisses it if that is possible, and does not He crowds on him, or points to him from afar, and remembers God and calls upon him as he wills.
And when he reaches the Yemeni Corner, he touches it without kissing, and if it is not possible for him, he does not crowd over it, does not point to it, and says between it and the Black Stone, “Our Lord, give us goodness in this world and in the Hereafter goodness, and save us from the punishment of the Fire.”
During the circumambulation, the man does two things, the first is “al-Idhtibaa’” which is showing the right shoulder, and the second is “al-raml” which is the acceleration of walking with close steps during the first three rounds, and in the rest he walks as usual.
After completing the circumambulation, he proceeds towards the Maqam of Ibrahim and recites “And take from the Maqam of Ibrahim a prayer place.” Then he prays two rak’ahs behind him and reads Surahs “The Unbelievers” and “Al-Ikhlas” after Al-Fatihah, and if it is not possible, then in any place in the Grand Mosque.
- Pursuit
Then the pilgrim goes out to seek from the gate of Safa and ascends it in the future of the Kaaba, and recites the honorable verse: “The Safa and Marwa are among the rituals of God. “There is no god but God alone. He fulfilled His promise, helped His servant, and defeated the parties alone.” He repeats it three times, and there is no harm if it is limited to less than that.
Then he descends from al-Safa to al-Marwah on foot, and when he reaches the two green flags, he speeds up his “jogging” walk, and this is for men only, and he walks as usual upon reaching the second flag, and repeats the command in each round, and ascends al-Marwah and says what he said on al-Safa, and counts the lap from al-Safa to al-Marwah. And vice versa, he calculates another round, and he says in the pursuit what is easy of remembrance, supplication, or reading the Qur’an.
- Shaving or dereliction of ihram
When he completes his quest, the man shaves his head or cuts his hair, and if a woman cuts the ends of her hair by a fingertip in all directions of the head.
Thus, the Umrah is complete, and the prohibitions are lifted, and clothes, perfume, marriage, and other things are permissible for him.
Visiting the Prophet's Mosque
Visiting the Prophet’s Mosque “may God bless him and grant him peace” in Medina is not part of the Hajj and Umrah, as the pilgrim goes to Medina before or after performing the rituals, with the intention of visiting the Prophet’s Mosque and praying in it, because it is better than a thousand prayers elsewhere, except for the Sacred Mosque.
When you reach the mosque, pray two rak’ahs in it, the mosque greeting or the obligatory prayer, if it was established, then go to the tomb of the Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and greet him, saying: “Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and God’s mercy and blessings.”
Then take two steps to your right to stand in front of the tomb of Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, may God be pleased with him, and say, “Peace be upon you, O Abu Bakr, the successor of the Messenger of God, and God’s mercy and blessings. May God be pleased with you and reward you on behalf of the nation of Muhammad.”
Then he took two steps to stand in front of the tomb of Al-Faruq Omar Ibn Al-Khattab, "may God be pleased with him," saying, "Peace be upon you, Omar, Commander of the Faithful, and God's mercy and blessings. May God be pleased with you and reward you on behalf of the nation of Muhammad."
