Almost 50 sites on the beaches have been prepared to be covered by smart services, which will be provided for the first time and in an innovative way at the regional level, through the “Smart Palm” system, which is a device designed with high specifications and technology in the shape of a palm tree. The fact that the palm tree for the people of the Emirates represents heritage and goodness, in addition to that it represents the memories of the people of the Emirates with it throughout an honorable history; It constitutes a humanitarian message for all.

The project also aims to make Dubai the first city in the Arab world that provides entertainment services and sustainable luxury living with the availability of elements for success, as Dubai is truly the city of sustainable happiness in the Middle East region, according to the Director of the Environment Department at Dubai Municipality, who oversees the management and development of public beaches. Each palm tree will be equipped with 12 chargers to charge mobile phones of all kinds, in addition to amenities, especially seats and tables that make it easier for everyone to deal with modern technology calmly and elegantly.

Al-Harmoudi indicated that each palm tree is equipped with a large screen that uses touch technology, which will enable the public to know the weather, and to know everything related to the Emirate of Dubai and its most important landmarks, and how to access parks, markets, and recreational and tourist places.

She added that each palm tree is equipped with cameras to serve the public, which will monitor the places of accumulation of visitors and their needs, and thus work to direct them to other and appropriate places. The cameras will also work to explain all the events and activities that take place on the beaches and are far from the public, especially since each palm tree is equipped with headphones through which all directives and educational and warning leaflets provided by the municipality can be explained to the public.

Each palm tree will also be provided with two screens to display awareness films related to guidelines for using beaches, first aid and information related to forecasting the state of the sea, in addition to displaying some advertisements that serve the economic movement in the emirate and to advertise some national products.

Al-Harmudi confirmed that these devices operate in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner, as they are equipped with photovoltaic cells to provide them with the electrical energy needed for the operation without the need to connect them to an electrical source. Each palm tree was also provided with night lighting, which gave it an aesthetic dimension during the evening period, and enabled it to be used smoothly.
