موقع ArabiaWeather.com- سجلت مراكز الرصد الزلزالي العالمية وقوع زلزال عنيف في أقصى غرب الصين و تحديداً في منطقة تشينجيانغ الجنوبية.

 

و بلغت قوّة الزلزال 6.9 درجات على مقياس ريختر،و تمركزت على بُعد 270 كيلومتراً إلى الجنوب الشرقي من مدينة هوتان التي يبلغ عدد سُكّانها 114 ألف نسمة، و ذلك على عُمق 10 كيلومترات.

و يبدو من خلال الخرائط التوضيحية لمكان الهزة الأرضية هو تمركزها في منطقة جبلية نائية في الهيمالايا قريبة نوعاً ما من حدود الهند و باكستان، و لكننا بانتظار ورود تقارير عن أضرار أو إصابات مُحتملة جرّاء الهزة.

 

يُذكر بأن النشاط الزلزالي في جبال الهيمالايا تاتج عن الاصدام القاري بين الصفيحة الهندية من جهة و صفيحة أوراسيا (أوروبا و آسيا) من جهة أخرى، حيثُ تتقارب هذه الصفائح سنوياً بمُعدل 40 إلى 50 ملمتراً. و ذلك يولد العديد من الزلازل مما يجعلها إحدى أخطر المناطق زلزالياً على وجه الكُرة الأرضية.
