Sultanate of Oman | An eastern trough approaches the Sultanate and causes rain in many states
Arab Weather - Weather experts at the Arab Weather Center said that the latest computer simulation readings indicate that the Sultanate will be affected by the approach of an eastern trough that will bring rain to many states and cause the return of thunderstorms on the Al Hajar Mountains after they had recently disappeared, on Saturday and Sunday, accompanied by thunderstorms and active winds.
Rain returns again; humid winds cause return of local formations in the Al-Hijr Mountains and thunderstorms expected
Experts at the Arab Weather Center said that computer outputs indicate that the Sultanate of Oman is affected by humid seasonal winds that, when they collide with the Al Hajar Mountains, cause the formation of cumulonimbus clouds accompanied by strong descending winds and thunderstorms. They arise only in mountainous areas and may deepen westward into the gravel plains.
Thus, clouds appear at different heights on the Al-Hijr Mountains, especially the central and western Al-Hijr, interspersed with thunderstorm clouds that cause showers of rain on parts of the Al-Hijr Mountains and neighboring areas. The rain is expected to be thunderstorms and of varying intensity, and it is not unlikely that it will be heavy, causing significant flow of valleys, the formation of torrents and a rise in water levels. The rain will also be accompanied by hail showers in some areas.
Rains include the mountains and coasts of Dhofar, and may be heavy at times.
At the same time, it is expected that the coasts of Dhofar will be exposed to humid seasonal winds that, when they collide with the mountains and coasts, cause clouds to appear and rain to fall on the coasts and mountains of Dhofar. It is not unlikely that the rain will be heavy at times with the formation of fog.
God knows best.
