Urgent | Public Works warns pedestrians of external roads in Jordan due to weather conditions

Weather of Arabia - The Ministry of Public Works and Housing, on Wednesday, warned citizens on external roads and roads within its jurisdiction of low horizontal visibility due to dust on some external roads, and heavy precipitation of snow and rain, coinciding with the expected weather conditions.

In a press statement issued by its media unit, the ministry called on citizens not to use vehicles and park them on roadsides during expected weather conditions, especially in areas expected to witness snowfall, except for the utmost necessity; In order not to impede the work of the mechanisms and cadres working in the field to open roads and remove snow accumulations expected to fall on the roads.

The ministry called on the citizens to exercise the utmost caution and to stay away from the streams of torrents and valleys, noting that the field cadres working in the field have started since this morning to conduct field inspection tours, and mechanisms have been installed in the areas most vulnerable to being affected by the air depression to address any observation and remove the accumulations immediately.

The ministry indicated that the emergency plan focuses on working to maintain the services provided to citizens, especially the roads leading to hospitals and vital facilities, immediately removing obstacles and snow accumulations, and providing forms of support and backing to partners working in the field, which contributes to providing the best services to citizens.

She pointed out that salt will be sprinkled on the roads within its jurisdiction if necessary and based on the information received from the Meteorological Department, to ensure that no slips occur on the roads.

The ministry confirmed the readiness of its cadres, which are equipped with the necessary equipment, to deal with all weather conditions and to address the observations received to it over 24 hours through its 98 teams distributed over the various governorates of the Kingdom.

She indicated that coordination is taking place on a permanent and continuous basis with the ministry's partners to work on solving and addressing all observations periodically to maintain the sustainability of services provided to citizens, in accordance with the government approach.

With regard to receiving observations and complaints, the Ministry indicated that they are received through the application of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing’s emergency notification system, where the application allows citizens to add complaints and complaints in various regions of the Kingdom and optionally attach videos and photos to determine the type of communication to deal with, and the location of the complaint is determined And move immediately to solve it and take the necessary action in coordination with the relevant authorities if necessary, or through the emergency room numbers, which operate 24 hours a day on the following numbers:
