Archaeologists find hundreds of mummies in Peru

<p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr">ArabiaWeather.com - Archaeologists at the Royal Ontario Museum in Canada have found dozens of tombs in the Kutaisi Valley in Peru, some of which contain 40 mummies.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> Scientists have recovered 171 mummies so far from seven graves during their excavation work, and noticed that the buried bodies were placed in unusual positions, with their knees pulled to their shoulders and their forearms tied to their chests, then the bodies were wrapped in these strange positions with several layers of cloth and tied with ropes.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> The head of the mission, Justin Jennings, confirmed that the discovered graves are located within small hills surrounding the valley in which the ancient people of Peru lived, noting that the remains of the bodies belong to people of different ages, including the elderly and newborns.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> The researchers found the bodies of the newborns inside vessels.
