Dibeen forests in Jordan... where the unique diversity of terrain and wildlife
Arab weather - Dibeen forests are located in the Jerash Governorate in northern Jordan, and it is a uniquely diverse forest, where trees of different ages and sizes are located. This great diversity is due to the presence of valleys that give the region different levels of humidity and different soil conditions.
The complete Dibeen Forest extends over an area of more than 60 km² and elevation ranges between 500 and 1000 meters above sea level. The Aleppo pine trees in that region are the oldest and largest in the Kingdom, and the distinguishing feature of the natural pattern, and they represent the southeastern geographical limit of this type of forest on the globe. Approximately 400 millimeters per year.
Dibeen forests are the best examples of Aleppo pine-oak forests and include at least 17 endangered species such as the Persian squirrel and other important species on the level of global biodiversity.

- In low terrain, Aleppo pine is the dominant species with only some patches of Aleppo pine containing perennial trees.
- In the medium terrain, the Aleppo pine-oak pattern prevails, and this pattern extends over most of the reserve.
- In higher terrain, evergreen oak succeeds as the dominant species, with some patches of deciduous oak on the higher slopes. Other types of trees are also spread, such as maple (arbutus), pistachios and wild olives.
- The forest floor is exceptionally distinguished by the presence of orchids and other types of forest-related plants.
