The length of the shadow on the equator is at its minimum, and the sun rises from the geographic east point and sets from the geographic west point, and the hours of daylight and night are almost equal without taking into account the effect of the atmosphere.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> Due to the physics of the atmosphere, from the phenomena of the interaction of light with the components of the atmosphere, such as refraction, reflection, dispersion, polarization, absorption and emission, there is a delay in the day of equal hours of night and day. The time difference between the moment of the autumnal equinox and the equal hours of night and day was calculated for the geographical location of Jordan and it was found to be equal to four days, i.e. it is several days later than the moment of the equinox.
