ArabiaWeather.com - تفاجأت عائلة بريطانية بوجود فجوة أرضية كبيرة بالقرب من منزلهم ابتلعت سيارة "الفولكس فاجن" الخاصة بهم، والتي اختفت بشكل كامل ولم يعد لها أثر.
وعقب هذا الحدث قررت العائلة مغادرة منزلها واخلائه، ويبلغ عمق الفجوة التي ابتلعت السيارة 9 أمتار وبعرض 4.5 متر، وبلغت المسافة بين الفجوة ومنزل العائلة بضعة بوصات. وأكد أفراد العائلة أنهم لم يشعروا بشئ غريب، ولم يسمعوا أي صوت يدل على الحادث، بحسب صحيفة "الديلي ميل" البريطانية.
ويعتقد خبراء الجيولوجيا أن الأمطار الغزير التي شهدتها بريطانيا تسببت في تآكل القشرة الأرضية ومن ثم حدوث الفجوة الأرضية. وتنتشر ظاهرة الفجوات الأرضية في المناطق المكونة من الحجر الجيري وصخور الكربونات، والتي تتعرض بسهولة للتآكل بواسطة المياه الجوفية الحمضية، مما يؤدي إلى وجود فراغات في الأرض قد تنهار في أي لحظة بفعل الحمولة فوقها.
