In an unprecedented scene... 3 giant aircraft were transported by land from Jeddah to Riyadh

Arab Weather - His Excellency the Chairman of the Entertainment Authority announced the launch of the "Boulevard Runway" area in cooperation with "Saudi Airlines", as it will be located next to the Boulevard City area with an area of 140 thousand square meters. The area will contain three Boeing 777 aircraft converted into shops and restaurants, in addition to 13 interactive experiences suitable for all ages.

Aircraft transfer to Riyadh

Videos documented the transfer of three B777-200ER aircraft from Jeddah to Riyadh by land, where they will be used as part of the Riyadh Season events. The operation was carried out under tight security and the distance traveled exceeded 1,000 kilometers, and was complicated due to the size and weight of the aircraft, making this operation the first of its kind in the Kingdom.

• Logistical challenges

The videos showed the process of transporting the planes using special trucks, as the planes headed along a long path to avoid bridges whose height does not match the height of the planes, which exceeds 6 meters. The challenge of size and weight was great, as the length of one plane is approximately 64 meters, and its width is 6.2 meters, equivalent to the length of 13 2025 Camry cars.

• Aircraft use in Boulevard Runway

These aircraft will host various entertainment events and experiences within the Riyadh Season. The aircraft, which have served for more than 18 years in the Saudi Airlines fleet, carry a long history of journeys and stories with crews and passengers.

About Aircraft

The three aircraft entered service between 1998 and 1999, and were retired between 2016 and 2017. Despite being retired, the model is still used by international companies such as the American United.
