Floods and landslides in China claim at least 15 lives and cause great damage
Weather of Arabia - Continuous heavy rains have caused floods and landslides in southern China's Guangxi Autonomous Region, southwestern Yunnan Province and eastern Fujian Province on Thursday and Friday, May 26 and 27, 2022.
At least 15 people were killed, including 8 after a landslide in two buildings in Fujian, 5 people were killed and 3 are still missing in Yunnan, while three children were swept away by flood waters Friday in Guangxi District, two died and one survived .
According to preliminary statistics, nearly 7,280 hectares of agricultural crops have been damaged, at least 150 buildings as well as 130 bridges and roads have been destroyed in Kuipei Province of Yunnan, about 130 kilometers north of the border with Vietnam, and communications and electrical facilities have been severely damaged.

Heavy rains in Wuping County, Fujian, caused the collapse of a highway, provincial roads and two houses, killing 8 people, and more than 1,600 people were evacuated in the province.
More than 220 mm (8.6 inches) of rain was recorded in Shifang, Wuping County on May 27 - exceeding the previous record. The highest daily rainfall recorded in Yunnan Province was 150 mm (5.9 in).
