The film `And We Go Green` draws the world's attention to the phenomenon of global warming at the Cannes Film Festival!
And We Go Green, a new documentary about electric street racing, will premiere at this year's Cannes Film Festival.
The film is directed by Academy Award winner Fisher Stevens and Malcolm Venville. It was produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, who is currently in the South of France at the Cannes premiere of Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, in which he stars alongside Brad Pitt.
And We Go Green not only features great racing scenes, but the vision of the film also aligns with DiCaprio's message of fighting global warming and air pollution.
This is not the first time DiCaprio and Stevens have been in this field; They previously collaborated on Before the Flood, a 2016 climate change documentary.
We Go Green will be shown next Thursday in Cannes.
In addition to the directors and DiCaprio, guests on the show will include Formula E Founder and CEO Alejandro Agag, former Formula E driver Nelson Piquet Jr., Formula E title holder Jean-Eric Vergne, Executive Producers Rick Yorn and John Kamen, Producers Christopher St. John, Jennifer Davison and Zara Duffy, and editor Gabriel Rhodes.
"At first we thought we were making an environmental film," Stevens and Finville said in their statement. “We realized the best way to get the world interested in climate change was to make a film about people – in this case, race car drivers! The lives of athletes, the ups and downs, the excitement of racing, innovative electric technology, along with racing through the hearts of the world's largest cities. It was Working on this movie is amazing, inspiring and exciting!"
