General situation for the second half of January 2022:

• Far into the middle of the month, there are increasing signs that the Middle East, including the Kingdom, will have colder than usual temperatures.
• There is no clarity at the time of the bulletin's release on the arrival of major winter weather conditions in the region, but the best chances are in the middle of the month and in the last week.
• Long-range computer models suffer from large fluctuations in forecasts for several climatic reasons.
• Continuing the pattern of the Kingdom and the region being affected by sub-air systems.

Forecast weather for the coming weeks:

Second week (January 8-14), 2022:

• Rain: below average
• Temperatures: Turn to warmer than average.
• The chance of torrential rain: Low except for southern Jordan on Sunday/Monday night.
• Snow chance: none.

  • The most important characteristic of this period is the lower temperatures than their averages, so that the cold weather prevails remarkably on most days with temperatures colder than their averages on a number of days, and the chances of frost formation at night increase in several areas. There are indications that the region, including the Kingdom, was affected by an air depression at the beginning of the period, bringing rain, God willing, to different regions.

Fourth week (January 22-31), 2022:

• Rain: about average
• Temperatures: Colder than average.
• Flood Chance: Low.
• Snow chance: Low except for the high mountainous heights in the Levant.

  • The main feature of the weather in this period continues to be great cold and lower temperatures than usual, and the recurrence of low temperatures at night to levels where frost forms in several nights. In the same week, there are increasing signs of recurring extensions of air altitudes from the Atlantic Ocean towards the European continent, so that the chance increases during this week that the region, including the Kingdom, will be affected by an air depression.
