A cold air mass will affect Jordan starting Thursday, with a noticeable drop in temperatures.
Arab Weather - According to the latest computer simulation readings, Arab Weather experts reported that the Kingdom will be affected, starting from Thursday, especially in the evening hours, by a cold air mass coming from the eastern basin of the Mediterranean Sea, so temperatures will noticeably drop to become around their averages for this time of year.
Temperature differences reach 5 degrees Celsius between Wednesday and Thursday
With the drop in temperatures on Thursday, the temperature differences between Wednesday and Thursday will be around 5 degrees Celsius in the capital Amman, with the maximum becoming around 13 degrees Celsius in the capital Amman. Relatively cold to cold weather will prevail in various regions during the daytime hours, with clouds appearing at different heights, especially in the Badia regions. Winds will be variable in direction and light in speed, while they will be southeasterly and moderate in speed in the Badia regions.
During the evening and night hours of Friday/Saturday, the Kingdom will be increasingly affected by the cold air mass, so temperatures will drop significantly and very cold weather will prevail in various regions, with minimums ranging between 4-6 degrees Celsius in various regions of the capital Amman, while they will approach zero degrees Celsius in the Badia regions and the peaks of the Shara Mountains.
Further drop in temperatures on Friday and cold weather in all regions
On Friday, the Kingdom will be increasingly affected by the cold air mass, so temperatures will drop further to around 9 degrees Celsius in the capital Amman, which is colder than their average for this time of year. Cold weather will prevail in most areas of the Kingdom, and the winds will be southwesterly, moderate in speed, active at times and will increase the feeling of cold significantly, God willing.
During the night hours, i.e. Friday/Saturday night, very cold weather prevails in various regions, reaching below zero degrees Celsius in the desert areas and the peaks of the Sharah Mountains. Therefore, it is recommended to heat crops and livestock in conjunction with the severe cold during the night hours.
Recommendations:
- Heating crops and livestock, especially in the desert and eastern plains.
- Wear warmer clothes, especially children's clothing.
- Beware of low horizontal visibility in desert areas due to dust raised on Friday.
- Safe use of heating devices.
And God knows best.
