فعلى سبيل المثال إذا كانت درجة حرارة الهواء 38 °م ونسبة الرطوبة 20% ، فإننا سنشعر بدرجة الحرارة مساوية لـ 38°م اذا كان الطقس مستقر، وإذا كانت الرطوبة النسبية مساوية لـ 70% عند درجة الحرارة نفسها، فإننا نشعر بأنها 50 مئوية تقريبا، وربما اكثر على حسب بعض المعادلات.
