Why is Jeddah warmer in winter than Dammam?
<p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr">Weather of Arabia - Dr. Abdullah Al-Misnad, former climate professor at Qassim University and Vice President of the Saudi Weather and Climate Society, revealed the reasons why Jeddah is warmer than Dammam in the winter, while its temperature is lower in the summer, even though they are both coastal cities.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p><h2 style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> Why is Jeddah warmer in winter than Dammam?</h2><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> Dr. Al-Misnad explained that Dammam in the winter is closer to the sources of cold northern air masses, in addition to the absence of mountain barriers such as the Hijaz Mountains that prevent cold masses from reaching, and this generally explains the climatic differences between the eastern and western coasts.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> He added through his account on the “X” platform that in the summer the temperature in Jeddah is about 4-5 degrees lower than in Dammam, while they are almost similar in temperature during the spring and fall seasons.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> He continued, saying that Dammam is colder than Jeddah in the months of October, November, December, January, February, March, and April, while Jeddah is less hot in the months of May, June, July, August, and September.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> Dr. Al-Misnad pointed out that the cumulative temperatures throughout the year are higher in Jeddah compared to Dammam. He added that the best time to visit Jeddah in terms of temperatures is from December to March, while September is the worst month to visit, and the best time to visit Dammam is from November to April.
