What did Al-Musnad say about the phenomenon of volcanic lightning?
Weather of Arabia - Dr. Abdullah Al-Misnad, who was previously a professor of climatology at Qassim University and Vice President of the Saudi Weather and Climate Society, explained that the lightning resulting from the eruption of volcanoes is called volcanic lightning or volcanic lightning, and it is an atmospheric phenomenon linked to the eruption of volcanoes, and this type of lightning occurs as a result of Friction of ash particles and electrically charged gases within lava.
Al-Misnad added, through his account on the “X” platform:
“When volcanoes erupt, hot gases and lava rush outward, as these gases contain electrically charged particles, which may be positive or negative, and when friction occurs between these particles inside the dense gray clouds emanating from the volcano, electrical discharges are produced that appear in the form of lightning.” .
