Egypt | A noticeable drop in temperatures and strong winds as a cold air mass of polar origin approaches the republic
Arab Weather - Many weather models and maps at the Arab Weather Regional Center indicate that the eastern Mediterranean basin is expected to be affected, starting from next Wednesday evening, God willing, by a cold, stormy and rainy low pressure system, accompanied by a cold air mass of polar origin, whose effects will affect Egypt in the form of a noticeable drop in temperatures in most parts of the republic starting from Thursday. The maximum temperature in the capital, Cairo, is likely to be around 16 degrees Celsius.
Strong surface wind activity in these areas
Weather forecasters said that the cold air mass is expected to be accompanied by strong winds that raise dust and sand starting from Wednesday evening and Thursday, God willing, over large areas of the country, which may sometimes reach the level of a storm in exposed areas, especially on the northern coasts overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, where some wind gusts may reach more than 80 km/h in coastal areas. While it becomes less severe in the rest of the interior areas, it remains active in the rest of the northern regions and may sometimes raise sand and dust in some exposed areas as well.
Therefore, it is necessary to warn and be careful of the danger of high waves that may reach a height of 5 meters, and thus cause disruption to maritime navigation due to high wind speeds.
Chances of varying intensity rainfall include these areas.
According to the latest weather data, the cold air depression is expected to cause low and medium clouds to multiply over scattered areas in the north of the country, accompanied by rainfall of varying intensity, especially in areas of the northeastern coasts of North Sinai. It may sometimes be heavy in some geographical areas, especially starting from Wednesday and Thursday evening, God willing. It may extend to include some areas of the northern Delta coasts at some times.
And God knows best.
