Egypt | Exceeds 40 degrees Celsius in the north.. Heat wave affects the country starting Wednesday
Arab Weather - The latest computer simulation outputs at the Arab Weather Center, especially those that sense the movement of air masses, indicate that the Arab Republic of Egypt is affected by an extremely hot air mass resulting from the increasing influence of a high air pressure in the upper layers of the atmosphere, starting from Wednesday and continuing on Thursday and Friday with extremely hot weather, as the maximum temperature exceeds the threshold of 40 degrees Celsius in Cairo and large areas of the country.
Very hot weather and highs exceeding 40 north
In detail, specialists in the weather operations department at the Arab Weather Center said that the high pressure system will intensify over the country in the coming days and during the weekend, especially in the south, accompanied by an increase in heating operations for the very hot air mass. Temperatures will rise again, especially on Thursday, to be higher than their averages for this time of year by about 7-9 degrees Celsius. The weather will be very hot in various parts of the country, and the winds will be north to northwesterly, moderate in speed, accompanied by active gusts in the afternoon that will raise sand and cause a decrease in horizontal visibility, especially in the Upper Egypt governorates.

Computer simulation: Temperatures reach the early 40s in the northern regions with high humidity levels
Arab Weather experts are following up on what computer modeling indicates about expectations of recording a maximum temperature ranging between 39-41 degrees Celsius in the northern regions, including the northern part of Lower Egypt and neighborhoods of Greater Cairo, God willing, especially on Thursday, coinciding with the rise in humidity levels, which increases the intensity of the feeling of heat and discomfort.
Hot nights in different parts of Egypt, and more moderate in the cities of the North Coast
With the heat wave, there is a rise in night (minimum) temperatures, and the weather tends to be relatively hot to hot in various regions, with the exception of the northern coasts and Sinai, as these regions are affected by marine air currents that lower temperatures and create a moderate but humid atmosphere.
We at the Arab Weather Center recommend that during the period of influence of the hot air mass, you pay attention to the following:
- Avoid prolonged and direct exposure to sunlight.
- Drink sufficient amounts of fluids and moisturizers constantly.
- Do not leave compressed containers or any flammable materials inside closed vehicles under the sun.
- Do not leave children inside closed vehicles, even for a short period.
- Beware of the risk of increased dust levels and their effect on patients with respiratory diseases and horizontal visibility.
- Wear loose, light-colored clothing and hats.
God knows best.
