Arab Weather - The center's press service announced that next December will witness the peak of the Geminid and Ursids meteor showers, as residents of Russia and some regions of the world will be able to watch them.

She explained that the first shower will be the Geminids meteor shower, which is active in the constellation Gemini, and will reach its peak on the night of December 14, when astronomers expect to see about 120 meteors per hour. These meteors are characterized by their white color, brightness, and low speed as they cross the sky.

The Ursids meteor shower occurs annually on December 17 and peaks on the night of December 21-22, when about 10 meteors per hour can be seen. Unlike the Geminids, which can be seen from both hemispheres, the Ursids will only be visible to those in the Northern Hemisphere.

Cold Moon on December 15, 2024

The last full moon of 2024, also known as the Cold Moon, will be on Sunday, December 15, 2024. This will be the third full moon of the fall of 2024, occurring before the winter solstice.

This month's full moon gets its name from the cold weather it brings with it.
