An Austrian province that generates electricity from renewable energy
<p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr">ArabiaWeather.com - Lower <strong>Austria</strong> Governor Erwin Brühl said that the province was able to generate 100% of its electricity from renewable energy sources, and that huge investments have been made to support the generation of electricity from environmentally friendly <strong>renewable energy</strong> and the renewal of hydroelectric stations on the Danube River.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> More than 1.6 million people live in the province in northeastern Austria, and it gets 63% of its electricity from hydropower, while extracting 26% from wind energy and providing 9% from biomass and 2% from solar energy.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> It is worth noting that 75% of electricity comes from renewable energy sources, and the rest comes from fossil fuels such as coal and natural gas.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> It is noteworthy that Austria had previously voted against nuclear power in a referendum in 1978.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p>
