Regarding the upcoming forecasts for the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region and the entire western and southwestern sector of the Kingdom, there are increasing indications that these areas will be affected during the remainder of the month of June and during the coming month of July, with temperatures below the usual rates for this time of the year on most days.
The ITCZ advances and rises northward in July
Tropical moisture is rushing towards the south of the peninsula. Will it affect Mecca?
The forecast staff at the Arabian Regional Weather Center is monitoring the initial indicators promising the deepening of the Intertidal Dividing Line (ITCZ) towards the south of the Arabian Peninsula, opening the door for tropical moisture to advance and rush from the Arabian Sea towards the region during the month of July, which will ultimately lead to the emergence of Unstable weather conditions on a large scale, including the Emirates, the Sultanate of Oman, Yemen, and parts of southwestern and western Saudi Arabia, accompanied by the widespread formation of cumulonimbus thunderstorm clouds in parts of Jizan, Asir, and Al-Baha, and may extend on some days to areas of Taif and Mecca.
Arabia Weather notes that it is not possible to make a final judgment on the details of the moisture flow towards the region and the accompanying rain distribution due to the long period of time and the high margin of error. Arabia Weather will issue more forecasts about the weather condition in Mecca in the coming days.
