Nafud Al-Arqana is located to the east of the Tabuk region. It is an extension of the wide sand dunes in the northern region of the Kingdom. It is distinguished by its reddish-golden color, the length and largeness of the sand dunes, and its great depth. It is a shrine to the people of the north and northwest of the kingdom, residents of the Tabuk region and its governorates.
Located on the outskirts of Nafud is the town of Bir Ibn Hermas, which was an important area for pilgrims before the establishment of the Hejaz Railway.
