Human clothes generate electricity
ArabiaWeather.com - Khitam Amer - We all know that wearing clothes is certain in the cold of winter and the heat of summer and at the same time gives us a beautiful and decent appearance, but did anyone think that their clothes can generate electrical energy?
This is what scientists and experts in Portugal are doing in the Nanotechnology and Smart Materials Research Center and within the framework of the European "Devotex" project, where scientists conduct advanced scientific research on some types of clothing and apparel, with the aim of investing energy from those clothes such as coats, trousers, and others.
In this way, the owner can charge the mobile phone or laptop, and the curtains of the house hanging inside the rooms can supply the bulbs with the electrical energy needed to operate and light the entire house.
German experts confirm the possibility of developing highly flexible solar cells in thin layers of clothing to be used to generate energy that enables a person to benefit from the energy generated by some clothes in his daily life.
Professor Christoph Brabic from the University of Erlangen-Nurenburg, Germany, says: "These cells are solar cells. The material that goes into their manufacture has the ability to absorb light and convert it into an electric current. This material is made of organic semiconductors and can spread further within 15 years."
The semiconductors of the electric current that can be used, according to Brabic, are like plastic, unlike the traditional solar cell that currently uses glass, which makes it difficult to move it everywhere without being damaged. On the other hand, organic cells can be bent, wrapped and folded with ease.
