The effects of the low pressure system on the north of the Levant, especially Syria and Lebanon, will begin in the morning hours of Wednesday, when a cold and rainy air front will pass and reach Palestine and Jordan in the late morning and afternoon hours. Active winds will blow with strong gusts, especially at sea, and the Mediterranean will be rough, God willing, while the same active winds will cause dense dust waves and strong sandstorms in the Badia Al-Sham regions, which are still far from rainfall, God willing.

The depression deepens on Wednesday/Thursday night, and very cold winds flow towards the region

During the hours of Thursday/Friday night and Thursday morning, the low pressure system deepens over the Levant as a result of the flow of polar winds of very cold origin towards the center of the low pressure system. Therefore, the weather activity intensifies and very cold and stormy weather prevails as a result of the significant increase in wind speed. Heavy rain falls on various regions of the Levant, sometimes accompanied by thunder and hail showers, while the rain is very heavy in the coastal areas of Syria and Lebanon, and the winds are very fast, as some gusts reach 80 km/hour.

The snow line (the level separating snowfall from rain) is expected to drop in the northern regions of Syria to below 600 metres above sea level during the peak period, while the level of snowfall increases towards southern Syria and Lebanon.

In Jordan, snow is expected, God willing, on the peaks of the Karak and Tafilah mountains, which include the Qadisiyah and Rashadiyah heights and the surrounding areas, with occasional accumulations in those areas. Later, some snowfall will extend to the high peaks of the Shara Mountains in the south in Ma'an Governorate. As for the high mountain peaks in the north and center of the Kingdom, the opportunity will be available in the morning hours for snow showers to fall on the high peaks of the Jerash and Ajloun mountains, while it will often be mixed with rain on the peaks of the Balqa and capital mountains.
