A new wave of rain hits Karachi, and the death toll rises to 50 within one week

Renewed heavy rains Monday and Tuesday
The National Disaster Management Authority said: "It is expected that heavy to very heavy rains" will occur in about 40 regions in the country, which will continue until Tuesday.
A spokesman for the National Disaster Management Authority said, "The evacuations of people living on the banks of the Jhelum and Chenab rivers in Punjab are underway."
Thousands of people have been moved to safer places, as two huge dams are filled to capacity, and a new wave of rain is expected to cause floods, he said.
50 dead in Karachi during the floods
Last week, the country witnessed heavy rains, which were described as standard, and it was announced that at least 50 people had died since the rains began to fall on Karachi, which is home to about 20 million people, as of last Tuesday.
The Water and Energy Development Authority (Wabda) announced on Friday that the cumulative amount of water available at the present time in the reservoirs of Mangla and Tarbela amounts to 16.45 billion cubic meters, which is a record number of water availability during the past ten years.
