Menorca.. an attractive tourist destination in Spain
The weather of Arabia - virginity, idyllicity and romance, the shiny sands and turquoise waters of Spain ... are actually present when you talk about the beaches in Menorca, especially outside the peak tourist season, when the weather is warm and suitable for sitting in the sun and the ideal temperature.
The island has always been promoting sustainable tourism, even before it became a popular tourist destination. Its gentle landscapes are ideal for various activities such as walking, cycling, mountaineering and horseback riding, all of which make visitors come to enjoy nature and practice their beloved sports.
Similar to these activities, stone ruins dating back thousands of years are also scattered throughout the island, providing a historical flavor that some hikers are looking for, and those who always love to meet the sea take them to the ancient coastal path that connects a series of coves.
Where to go in Menorca?
Menorca is all about beach activities, whether swimming, snorkeling, canoeing, paddle boarding, sailing or other sea sports, but if you get back on land you'll also get opportunities to move around the coastal path or cycle through country lanes.
You can also take a stroll to both Ciutadella, the former capital during British occupation, and Mahon, the capital city built on cliffs with Georgian architecture, famous for its port and elegant restaurants.
Not to be missed are the town of Alaior, home to the local cheese industry, as well as Esmercadal right in the center of the island, or the small fishing village of Fronelles and some delicious seafood restaurants.
When do you travel to Menorca?
Although the tourist season runs from May to October, the island is also beautiful in early spring when the almond trees are in bloom, and in general all the Balearic Islands are best for holidays outside of the sweltering months (July and August). Your journey more challenging.
